The five-day event held until March 3, the Emirates Classic Car Festival featured over 300 classic cars and motorcycles, the largest showcase to date, a significant in participation compared to 2013. The cars on display ranged from 1928 to 1984, from Corvette Sting Rays to Bentleys and Rolls Royce. A highlight of the Festival was a Pre-World War II Mercedes, with a super-charged engine, from 1923; and the first car ever made under the Mercedes Patent Wagon, 1982. Winners of the 6th Emirates Classic Car Festival were evaluated on the basis of upkeep, value, originality, uniqueness, finishes, and visual aesthetics. Underlining its position as one of the most-awaited lifestyle events in the city of Dubai, the fifth edition of the Emirates Classic Car Festival kicked off with the largest showcase of classic cars and motorbikes to date. Featuring a line-up of more than 200 classic cars and motorbikes, the event, on the spectacular Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai, was held from 7th to 11th March. Some of the highlights of the fifth edition include Bentleys from the 1920s, which participated in the Blue Train Race between London and Nice, making a powerful appearance in Nice, before the arrival of the train; and a 1980 Delorean, similar to the model showcased in the critically acclaimed Back to the Future movies, marking its UAE premiere. Thousands of spectators soaked up the unprecedented spectacle of classic cars and motorbikes that were displayed on Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai, as well as the colourful parades, to mark the fourth Emirates Classic Car Festival. The prestigious "FIVA Award" granted by Horst Brüning, President of FIVA, for the second time in the region was won by the Baker Family for their Rolls Royce Phantom II, 1930 for the 'Best Preserved Original Car;' while Imtiaz Sheikh was bestowed with the 'Best of Show Emirates Classic Car Award 2011' for his Ferrari Lusso 250 GT/L 1964.
